Real Madrid announced yesterday an agreement to sign highly-rated teenage defender Jesus Vallejo from Real Zaragoza.

The 18-year-old, who this summer captained Spain to victory in the UEFA Under-19 Championship, will sign a long-term contract with Madrid but will remain on loan with Segunda Division Zaragoza for the 2015/16 season.

Neither club have an-nounced a fee, but reports in Spain suggest Madrid will pay six millions euros for the centre-back.

A Madrid statement read: “Real Madrid and Real Zaragoza have reached an agreement on the transfer of Jesus Vallejo, who will sign with the club for six seasons.

“Vallejo will remain at Real Zaragoza on loan for the coming season.”
