The second of three €13 million helicopters to be used for border control was inaugurated at the Armed Forces Air Wing yesterday. Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela said the government had spent more than €60 million on the Air Wing so far this legislature. The investment, however, would not stop there, as yesterday’s inauguration ceremony also saw the signing of a preliminary agreement for a third new helicopter. “A modern nation cannot function without a modern force, and that is what we are building,” Mr Abela said.
