Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri feels Gonzalo Higuain has plenty more to offer the club amid reports linking the Argentina striker with a move to the English Premier Lea-gue this summer.
The 27-year-old has scored 35 Serie A goals in his two years with the southern Italian club but could become the subject of a big-money bid from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool, according to the Italian media.
The former Real Madrid player has a 100 million euro release clause included in a contract which is currently set to expire in the summer of 2018.
And ex-Empoli boss Sarri, who replaced Rafael Benitez in the Stadio San Paolo dugout last month, believes “world-class” Higuain will fire Napoli to new heights if he decides to stick around for the duration of his contract.
He told sscnapoli.com: “Gonzalo Higuain is a down-to-earth and intelligent guy. Some of his observations have struck a real chord with me.
“For us he is a fantastic re-source, a player who can win things for you on his own.
“He is a world-class player and I have the impression that he still has so much more to offer.”
