The Farsons Foundation is supporting the Malta Memorial District Nursing Association (MMDNA) by partially sponsoring the publication of a handbook for health care professionals working in hospitals and in the community, entitled Just in Case: Care and Case Management in Malta.

“Farsons has helped the MMDNA for years. The association provides an exceptional service to our local community, including our employees, and we are proud of our continued collaboration,” said Farsons Group chairman Louis Farrugia.

MMDNA chairwoman Grace Jaccarini said the handbook was of particular interest not only to health care professionals but also to students and the public.

“This year the association cele-brates its 70th anniversary and we are grateful for the tremendous support Farsons has always shown us,” she said.

The non-profit association was set up in 1945 to honour those who fought in World War II and, in the ensuing aftermath, to provide professional nursing care to the Maltese community in their homes.

The association has grown and developed over the years, currently employing over 140 staff and carrying out over 1,500 home visits a day, 365 days a year.

The handbook is available from the MMDNA offices in Kappara, San Ġwann for €5. A copy can be reserved by sending an e-mail to melitafarrugia@mmdna.com.
