Three young men were charge with the possession of cannabis with the intent to sell it Paceville on Saturday night.

The men were arraigned, before Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit, in separate cases.

Gambian Mohamed Konteh, 18, admitted to selling about a gram of cannabis resin to an Italian man in Paceville and was jailed for a year and fined €500.

In the other two cases two Somali men - Mohammed Omar Kaahin, 23, and Hamza Mohamud Ibrahim, 21, pleaded not guilty to the charges and were remanded in custody.                                         

Police Inspector Gabriel Micallef prosecuted.
