Valletta’s Republic and Merchants streets with their adjoining streets have now become busy with traffic and one has to be very careful not to get knocked down during the mornings.

Most establishments do not open for business before 9.30am and some even not before 10am. It is incredible how nobody ever thought deliveries cannot be carried out by 8am. If shop owners and their assistants prefer to have a lie-in, then they should not be entrusted to run a business, unless they want clients to put the money through their letter boxes and walk away.

One ought to realise that tourists visiting on cruise liners do not have much time to spend in Malta and should not be expected to wait for late risers to visit their shops.
