• Sannat celebrates the feast of St Margarita today. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will lead a pontifical concelebrated Mass at 9am. Mgr Paul Vella will deliver the panegyric. The Missa in honorem S. Margaritae by Mro Charles Camilleri, under the direction of Mro Joseph Debrincat, will be performed. Traditional horse and donkey races will be held at 2pm. Mgr Anton Mizzi will lead solemn vespers at 6.30pm, followed by a procession, led by Sannat’s archpriest Fr Michael Curmi, accompanied by the Santa Margerita Band, at 7.45pm. La Stella Band will give a concert on St Margarita Square. The procession will end with a Eucharistic celebration at 10pm. Festivities end with marches by the Ite ad Joseph Band at 10.30pm.

• The eighth ‘Opera vs Pop Under the Stars’ concert by the Gozo Youth Orchestra in collaboration with the Gozo Ministry and the US Embassy will be held tomorrow at 8.30pm in the courtyard of the Gozo Ministry, Victoria. • The Victoria Scout Group is organising a barbeque and campfire at the campsite in Dwejra on Wednesday (July 29) at 7.30pm. Tickets for €12 or €8 can be obtained from the scouts’ headquarters on 21 55 64 97, the group scout leader, Lorrie Saliba on 7955 5 844, the campsite at Dwejra, Bookworm Stationery, Republic Street, Victoria and Office Club Stationery, Dr Anton Tabone Street, Victoria by not later than tomorrow. The proceeds of this year’s raffle will be donated to the Malta Community Chest Fund.

• Masses at Ta’ Pinu sanctuary will be said today at 6.15, 8.30, 10 and 11.15am and 5pm, followed by the rosary and Eucharistic benediction. On Wednesday, Masses will be said at 5, 6, 7, 8.30 and 9am and 5.30, 6.30 and 8pm, followed by the rosary.

• The diocesan Eucharistic Movement will hold a prayer evening at St Augustine church, Victoria, on Saturday at 8.30 pm, followed by Mass at midnight.

• Masses at St James church, Independence Square, Victoria, will be said today at 10.30am.

• MUSEUM superior Joe Fenech will lead a prayer and catechesis meeting at Our Lady of Pompeii church, Victoria, on Thursday from 10 to 11am. All are invited.

• On Saturday August 8, the OASI Foundation will be presenting its annual open air festival Riflessi Sajfin, taking place from 8pm onwards at Marsalforn. The OASI Foundation would like to invite the public to Riflessi Sajfin 2015 and to enjoy the wonderful song and dance performances by the many talented local artists. It will also give the opportunity to support the talented youngsters and also acknowledge the good work by OASI Foundation in favour of those youths in difficulty due to substance abuse. This year’s event is the 24th edition of this festival, and will be presented by Lelio Spiteri.

• The Friends of Gozo are organising a fundraising dinner dance for Gozitan charities, including the Order of Malta Volunteers in Gozo, the OASI Foundation and Gozo SPCA, on Wednesday, August 12, from 7.30pm till late, and will be held at Ta’ Mena Estate.
