Clucas: Hull City have reportedly had a bid accepted for Chesterfield’s versatile left-sided player Sam Clucas. The Tigers, relegated from the Premier League last season, have agreed a £1m deal for the sought-after 24-year-old. Clucas has been the subject of offers from Chesterfield’s League One rivals Scunthorpe and Wigan this summer.

Hamer: Nottingham Forest have signed goalkeeper Ben Hamer on a season-long loan from Leicester. The 27-year-old made eight Premier League appearances for the Foxes last season. Hamer enjoyed over 100 appearances for Charlton before moving to the King Power Stadium and the Reading academy product has also enjoyed loan spells at Crawley, Brentford and Exeter.

Gardos out: Southampton defender Florin Gardos is set to miss the next “six to seven months” with a knee injury. His absence, together with Toby Alderweireld’s departure to Tottenham, leaves boss Ronald Koeman looking for a new centre-back. Gardos, 26, made 11 appearances for the Saints last season, after signing from Steaua Bucharest, but was set to be given his chance this time round.

Atalanta: Atalanta confirmed they will be playing against QPR in England on August 2 after scrapping their warm-up match against Besiktas in Graz 24 hours before. Atalanta said the match in Austria had to be cancelled as the stadium in Graz was no longer available and there were also concerns over public safety.

Bruges beaten: Junior scored a brilliant winner as promoted St Truidense caused a shock on the opening day of the new Belgian league with a 2-1 comeback victory over Bruges. Bruges looked on course for a winning start to the 2015/16 campaign but St Truid-ense had other ideas. The visitors will now need to regroup quickly as they face a tough trip to Panathinaikos in their Champions League qualifier on Tuesday.

Garbutt: Fulham have signed Everton defender Luke Garbutt on a season-long loan deal. The 22-year-old full-back penned a new five-year deal with Everton last month but will now seek first-team experience with the Champion-ship side. Toffees boss Roberto Martinez wanted the former Leeds United academy man to go out and further himself and has managed to secure a deal with Kit Symons’s Cottagers.
