On a trip to Malta last week, my wife, my daughter and I visited Valletta and ate in Caffe Cordina.
My wife, who uses a wheelchair, required a disabled toilet. We were told there wasn’t one.
Caffe Cordina prides itself on the fact that it was established in 1837. It seems that its facilities are of the same age.
I pointed out to a member of staff that EU regulations required access to a disabled toilet in restaurants. She said she knew but nothing had been done about it.
Perhaps Caffe Cordina could replace the rather dangerous staircase access to the toilets with a lift, thereby making access easy for anyone, whether able or disabled.
