Ludogorets: Ludogorets coach Bruno Ribeiro can breathe easy after receiving the backing of Bulgarian champions despite growing criticism over the club’s dreadful start to the new season. The Razgrad-based side were beaten by 10-men Moldovian champions Milsami Orhei 2-1 in the return leg on Tuesday to lose 3-1 on aggregate in what was described as “humiliation” by the Bulgarian media. “The club categorically declare its confidence in players and the coaching staff led by Bruno Ribeiro,” Ludogorets said.

Warner: The official documents from the US government requesting the extradition of former FIFA vice-president Jack Warner have been received by Trinidad and Tobago’s Attorney General Garvin Nicholas. “I can tell you that I have this evening received a formal request for the extradition of Mr Jack Warner with the supporting extradition package,” he said.

Fined: Barcelona have been fined 30,000 euros by UEFA over the behaviour of their fans during the Champions League final. During the final on June 6, it was reported that there was a significant presence of banners supporting the independence movement in Catalonia while fans are also reported to have been taking part in pro-independence chanting.

Krhin: Granada have bolstered their midfield ahead of the new season with the signing of Slovenia international Rene Krhin from Inter. The 25-year-old has experience of Spanish football having spent time on loan with Cordoba last season as they were relegated.
