Carpi: Serie A new boys Carpi have signed Chelsea full-back Wallace on a season-long loan deal. The 21-year-old, who joined the Blues from Fluminense in December 2012, has previous experience of Serie A having spent the 2013-14 campaign on loan at Inter. Wallace failed to make an impact at San Siro but was more effective as a loanee at Vitesse last season, and now he has opted to try his luck with the Serie B champions Carpi.

Lanzini: West Ham have signed Argentinian midfielder Manuel Lanzini on a season-long loan from United Arab Emirates club Al Jazira. Lanzini is the Hammers’ seventh signing of the summer. The 22-year-old, who is nicknamed ‘The Jewel’, has played four times for Argentina Under-20s and came through the same River Plate youth system that produced the likes of Ariel Ortega and Javier Mascherano.

Banned: Four Chelsea fans who refused to allow a black man onto the Paris Metro were banned yesterday from attending football matches for between three and five years. The incident occurred in February when the Chelsea supporters were in the French capital to watch the UEFA Champions League match against Paris St Germain. Richard Barklie, Josh Parsons and William Simpson were each banned for five years, yesterday. Jordan Munday was banned for three years.

James Leaves: Full-back Reece James has left Manchester United to join League One side Wigan on a permanent basis. The 21-year-old has moved to the DW Stadium for an undisclosed fee, signing a three-year contract after making just one senior appearance for United, in the 4-0 League Cup loss to MK Dons last August. Having spent time on loan with Carlisle, Rotherham and Huddersfield, James has elected to leave Old Trafford and establish his career elsewhere in the north-west.

Zapata: Udinese have signed Colombian striker Duvan Zapata on a two-year loan deal from Napoli. The 24-year-old had scored 11 Serie A goals for Napoli since moving to Naples from Estudiantes in 2013 but now travels the length of Italy to play for new Udinese boss Stefano Colantuono.
