DEMICOLI. On July 21, MARLENE née Sultana, at Mater Dei Hospital, aged 70, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Will always be loved and remembered by her husband Charles, her son Edward and his wife Concita, Clive and his wife Rachel, Marlene’s sister Doris and her husband Lawrence Ghio, Margaret and her husband Paul Camilleri, her brother Paul Sultana and his wife Veronica, John Sultana and his wife Rosalie; her grandchildren Julia, Sophie, Ella, Tommy and Elizabeth; Charles’s brothers Tony and his wife Joan, Mario and his wife Claudia, their respective families, nephews and nieces, various other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2pm for Iklin parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GAUCI. On July 20, BERTU, born on May 7, 1921, widower of Concetta, passed away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his dear loss his children Fr Bert Gauci, o.f.m, Missionary in Honduras, Salvu and his wife Carmen, Ronnie and his wife Cynthia, Mary and her husband Charles, and Martin and his wife Theresa, his grandchildren and other relatives, and friends. The funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 29 at 3pm at Għargħur parish church, followed by interment in the family grave at Għargħur cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Missions in Honduras will be appreciated.

SCHEMBRI. On July 17, at Mater Dei Hospital, Canon PAUL SCHEMBRI, aged 74, of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary parish, Senglea, and residing at Siġġiewi, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his mother Angela, his sisters Rose and Vincenza (M.U.S.E.U.M. members), his brother Joseph and his wife Josephine, his niece Marianne and her daughter Amira, his nephew Nicholas and his wife Stephania, cousins, other relatives and friends. Canon Paul will lie in the chapel of St John at Siġġiewi square today after 8.30am. At 3.30pm the funeral cortege leaves from the chapel to St Nicholas parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated, presided by Mgr Charles J. Scicluna, Archbishop of Malta, followed by interment in the family grave at Siġġiewi cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Kleru, Birkirkara, will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. May he rest in peace.
