What did the snail say when it jumped on the turtle's back? Weee!

Snails might be one of the slowest creatures on the planet, but they can entertain a crowd.

The village of Congham in eastern England has been home to the World Snail-Racing Championships for more than 40 years.

The rules are simple -- the first to slime its way 13 inches from the starting circle to the outer red ring is crowned the winner.

This year's winner, named George, slid past 175 other competitors. He clocked a time of two minutes and 40 seconds - 20 seconds short of the record pace.
