Laura Cioffi has completed a Bachelor of Music degree with First Class honours at Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland, specialising in flute performance with Andrea Kuypers as her tutor.

Cioffi studied history of music, with particular emphasis of 20th century music, ensemble playing techniques, conducting, orchestration, jazz improvisation and music analysis.

She also had to organise, promote and perform in a 40-minute recital at Canongate Kirk, which included a performance of the Ibert Flute Concerto.

Cioffi has also performed with the Edinburgh Youth Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland, Tinderbox Orchestra, Flutes Unlimited and, recently, with Scottish Opera.

She has also performed as a soloist with the Edinburgh Napier Chamber Orchestra on two occasions, the first time on piccolo and the second with Duo Aulos as a double concerto with fellow Maltese flutist Clara Galea.

She attended master-classes with Katherine Bryan, Lis Dooner, Marie-Christine Zupancic, Robert Winn, Katherine Kemler and Luisa Sello and has also taken part in events in Scotland, including the Borders Book Festival, Eden Festival, the Fringe and during the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2014.

Her studies at Edinburgh Napier University would not have been possible without the support of the Malta Arts scholarships scheme and the Ian Tomlin Malta/Napier Scholarship.
