Activities were held in Gozo to commemorate the 201st anniversary of the Malta police force. Mass was celebrated at Santa Marija cemetery chapel by the Gozo police chaplain Emanuel Curmi, assisted by Malta police chaplain Ray Bonnici, and attended by police commissioner Michael Cassar, police officers, representatives of police organisations and relatives. This was followed by the blessing of police graves and laying of wreaths. The celebration ended with the sounding of the last post and a minute of silence. A social activity was held at Marsalforn Bay with the participation of the police band. Also present for these activities were 26 Gozitan police recruits currently undertaking training in Malta.
