An infiorata (flower carpet) was laid out on the parvis of Għarb parish church as part of celebrations marking the feast of the Visitation of Our Lady to St Elizabeth.

A team of volunteers, ranging from young children to adults, started work on the infiorata on Sunday afternoon after the morning band march and completed it just in time for the Visitation statue procession to pass over it.

Artist Michael Bajada designed this year’s infiorata, whose themes included the consecrated life, the new Archbishop’s coat of arms and the 150th anniversary of the Gozo diocese.

It was the 10th consecutive year that the local council organised the infiorata during the feast.
