Il Volo, an Italian operatic pop trio which won this year’s Sanremo Music festival, will be singing in Malta on August 29.
The trio – tenors Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and baritone Gianluca Ginoble – were discovered by the Andrea Bocelli’s manager Michele Torpedine.
Speaking to the media via a live link from their recording studio in Italy, they said they were looking forward to the Malta concert. “We hope to see four generations of people at our concert, from five years old to 100,” they said.
They started out their classical crossover career on the popular Italian television show –Ti Lascio Una Canzone which landed them a worldwide recording deal with an American label Universal Music Group. They are hugely popular in America and in Spain.
The concert will be held at MFCC Ta Qali and tickets start from €29.
