Arshavin: Former Russia captain Andrei Arshavin has signed a one-year deal with Kuban Krasnodar as a free agent. The 34-year-old midfielder, whose Zenit St Petersburg contract ended last month, scored 17 goals in 74 internationals. He played most of his career at Zenit before moving to Arsenal in 2009.

Demichelis: Martin Demichelis suffered heartbreak in the Copa America final with Argentina but he had reason to be happy last weekend in Buenos Aires. The Manchester City defender tied the knot with his long-time partner and former Playboy model Evangelina Anderson at a ceremony in the Argentine capital. The 34-year-old has been with Anderson since 200 .

Donaldson: Dundee United have signed defender Coll Donaldson on a three-year-deal. The 20-year-old was released from his Queens Park Rangers contract last week.

Giovinco: Sebastian Giovinco scored a nine-minute hat-trick to earn Toronto a 4-4 draw with MLS opponents New York City on Sunday. David Villa gave City the lead and Damien Perquis’s own goal made it 2-0. However, Giovinco turned the game on its head between the 34th and the 43rd minute. Villa netted his second of the game to level the scores and although Marky Delgado appeared to have won it for Toronto on 82 minutes, Patrick Mullins’ goal two minutes later made sure of parity.

Varas: Las Palmas have signed goalkeeper Javi Varas on a two-year contract, the newly-promoted Primera Liga club announced. Varas has joined the team from the Canary Islands as a free agent after his contract with Real Valladolid expired last month. The 32-year-old played four seasons for his home club Sevilla before being sent out on loan to Celta Vigo in the 2012-13 campaign.
