BUTTIGIEG. On July 12, at Mater Dei Hospital Sister TERESINA of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss the Franciscan Sisters, her brothers and sisters, their spouses, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2pm where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at the Franciscan church, Villambrosa Street, Ħamrun followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Charity institutions will be greatly appreciated.
CECI. On July 10, at St Vincent de Paule residence, RANIERI, of Paola, passed peacefully away, aged 87. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Miriam and her husband Costantino, Ronald and his wife Doris, Lawrence and his ife Anna, Victor and his wife Maryanne and Helena and her husband Wayne, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law Mary Cachia, his brother-in-law Grezzju and his wife Ġuża, other relatives and friends. Funeral Mass will be said today at 8.30am at Christ the King parish church, Paola, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Marija Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
GAGLIONE. On July 9, at Villa Messina, Rabat, two weeks following her 98th birthday, MARIA, née Agius, widow of Louis, passed away peacefully. Among her many mourners are her four children John, Ronald, Richard and May; their spouses; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her loss her younger sister Gertrude and a number of relatives and friends. The funeral Mass will take place at Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Tigné Seafront, Sliema, on Thursday, July 16 at 9am and will be celebrated by the parish priest, Fr Joe Cilia, followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to S.T.A.R.S. would be welcome. Lord, grant her eternal peace.
GHIRLANDO. On July 9, at Mater Dei Hospital, PIERRE, aged 85, passed peacefully away to join his beloved daughter Ira and his brothers. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Nafsikaa (aka Kika), née Banes, his daughters Sue and her ex-husband Tony Valsamakis and Giselle and her husband Alessandro Liberto, his grandchildren Nicola, Dominique and her fiancée David Cole and Julienne, his sisters Elaine, Sr Eugenie, Cecile and Victoria and his sister-in-law Lina and their families, besides other relatives in Greece and numerous friends in Malta and abroad. The funeral service will be held at the Immaculate Conception church, Ibraġ, tomorrow at 9am. No flowers by request, but donations to a charitable institution of your choice.
GRIXTI. On July 11, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARY, of Marsa, aged 90, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy church surrounded by her family. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Doris and husband Joe Grima, Fr Joe OFM.Cap, Frankie and wife Antoinette, Jane and husband Joe Scicluna, Marthese and husband Ing. Ray Piscopo, Tania and husband Silvio Desira, her 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, her sister Tereża in Canada, her in-laws and their respective families also in Canada, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2pm for Maria Regina parish church, Marsa, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm followed by interment in the Police Section at Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The family wish to thanks the MMDNA carers ad the doctors and nursing staff at the Medical Admissions Ward 2 at Mater Dei Hospital.
