My husband and I were among the first to register for the bus card and received acknowledgement of our registration on June 1. My husband received his card over three weeks ago but I still haven’t received mine.

We are pensioners and were told that until July 7 those pensioners who had not received their card would pay 30 cents per journey but after that date they would have to pay €2 per journey.

I travel most days, sometimes making four journeys in a day, which will now cost me €8 per day, compared to the 50c we were paying before.

It is no comfort to be told to keep our tickets so that when our card arrives we can claim a rebate. Where are these cards? What is causing this delay? I cannot believe that they did not expect so many people to register, and surely those who registered first should be the first to receive the cards.

We were advised from May to register and I can understand that for those who registered late there may be some delays, but those who registered on time should have their cards by now.

My e-mails to Transport Malta go unanswered and it is impossible to reach them by phone. The whole exercise is most unsatisfactory.
