The Tennis Club Kordin (TCK), in conjunction with the Malta Tennis Federation, will be hosting an international Under-14 tournament for European players later this month.

For yet another year, this event, with important ranking points at stake, has attracted a significant number of players from various countries.

In fact, the number of participants sums up to 135 – 88 of whom boys and 47 girls.

Competition is expected to be of a very high level, with the highest-ranked player in the boys’ singles reaching no.39 in Europe – Italian Filippo Moroni.

The girls’ event list is headed by Katrin Saar, currently no.102 in the international ranking list.

In the boys’ singles, Malta will be represented by Liam Delicata (ranked no. 419), Alex Degabriele and Nicholas Degaetano. The girls team will consist of Vita Wilkinson, Emily Lightfoot, Krista Dimech and Emma Mallia.

The tournament will commence with the qualifying rounds on the weekend of July 25 and 26.

Signing in for the main draw will take place on July 24. The finals in both boys and girls’ singles tournaments are scheduled for August 1.
