The Actavis Lifecycle Challenge entered its third day today as a team of 12 cyclists continue with their bid to circle around Iceland to raise funds for renal patients and the Transplant Support Group.

Yesterday, cyclists endured a real test against the elements with gusts of Force 7 winds from every direction as they cycling from Holmavik to Saudarkorkur..

A large section of the route was on gravel roads which made cycling harder.
The team, embarked on its challenge on Monday cycling 144km from Akranes to Stykkisholmur.

Having spent the first night after their arrival in Iceland in a small WW2 museum, on its second night, the team found refuge in a barn, sheltered from the wind.
