Fifteen police officers were arraigned in court on criminal charges since 2013, Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela told Carm Mifsud Bonnici (PN) in Parliament today.

In 2013 four officers were separately charged with dangerous driving, aggravated theft, dangerous driving causing slight injuries, and inflicting slight injuries.

In 2014 five officers had been charged with negligent and dangerous driving, reckless driving, attempted murder, violent attack on a person, and tampering with evidence.

Up to June 15 this year six officers have been separately charged with fraud and misappropriation, distribution of illegal voting documents (two cases), aggravated theft, excessive driving and manslaughter while under the influence of excessive alcohol, and corruption and bribery.
