The otherwise excellent report about my speech at the National Quality Assurance Framework Conference on July 1 contained one quotation which was the precise opposite of what I said.

What I actually said was: “The political fire-storm which recently erupted involving my Commission was particularly unwelcome because those who fanned it were determined not to be confused by the facts. Their minds were made up for reasons which were far removed from education”.
