Following a cordial and helpful phone conversation with the tax office, I was advised that we could visit their offices in Floriana even on Saturday mornings should we require further clarification.

May I through this newspaper thank and compliment whoever is responsible for the service received from a very efficient lady tax officer.

She was very helpful and professional in her approach.

May I also draw to the attention of whoever is responsible for providing this service to the topic of conversation in the waiting hall: the smelly toilet facilities.

They lack even the basic necessities and are reminiscent of the underground public toilets just off Republic Street.

I am sure that these facilities can be improved upon in this day and age!
