For the eighth consecutive year, Vittoriosa Lawn Tennis Club (VLTC), in conjunction with the Malta Tennis Federation, will be hosting an international Under-14 European Tournament at their premises, starting next weekend.

The tournament, launched a few days ago at the club premises, is being sponsored by Kettle Chips, of Red October.

Competition will be open for boys and girls singles with a Main Draw of 48 players in each of the two events. The doubles and qualifying matches will also be played at the VLTC.

As in previous years, the tournament has attracted a lot of interest from junior hopefuls across Europe.

Players from Italy, Poland, Russia, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany, Estonia, Romania, Latvia, Cyprus, Sweden, Denmark, France, Czech Republic, Israel, Slovakia, Turkey, Hungary and Greece will all be here vying for precious ranking points.

Liam Delicata, Nicholas Degaetano, Alex Dega-briele, Francesca Curmi, Emily Lightfoot, Cheyenne Borg, Krysta Dimech, Emma Mallia and Stella Moazed will be representing the Maltese federation in the tournament.

In a statement, Vittoriosa Lawn Tennis Club thanked the sponsors, Kettle Chips, for their support and urged the Maltese sporting public to attend and give their support to the local players.
