Keshi sacked: The topsy-turvy troubled relationship between the Nigeria Football Federation and their coach Stephen “Big Boss” Keshi has ended with the NFF sacking him because “he is not committed enough” to the job, the NFF said in a statement. The former Nigeria international, who coached his country to victory in the African Cup of Nations in 2013, has been replaced by Shuaibu Amodu.

Jojic: Cologne have completed the signing of Milos Jojic from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund for a fee believed to be in the region of three million euros. The Serbia international has signed a four-year contract with Cologne after failing to gain a regular starting berth in 18 months with Dortmund.

Romagnoli: Roma made it clear yesterday they were not ready to part with promising defender Alessio Romagnoli following reports that Milan were showing keen interest in the 20-year-old who was on loan at Sampdoria last season. “Romagnoli won’t be sold, he must not be sold,” Roma director of sport Walter Sabatini told reporters. Milan have already signed midfielder Andrea Bertolacci from Roma this summer.

Deeney: Watford striker Troy Deeney has signed a new five-year deal with the Premier League newcomers. The 27-year-old scored 21 goals for the Hornets last season. Deeney, who has been a target for a number of clubs in recent seasons, will now look to prove he can cut it in the Premier League and will go into the first game of the campaign against Everton buoyed by his new contract.

Carpi: Serie A newcomers Carpi want to strengthen their attacking department with the signing of Ryder Matos this summer. The 22-year-old is owned by Fiorentina but currently on loan at Palmeiras until the end of the year.
