My wife and I recently visited Gozo, where we decided to stop for a few minutes at the Arcadia shopping centre because it was too early to have some lunch. This was at 11.57am.

We parked our car carefully in a parking bay and were already crossing the road to enter the shopping arcade when my wife reminded me to adjust the windscreen timer.

I was crossing the road again to return to my car and, to my dumbfounded bewilderment, a warden had already issued a contravention ticket. This was noon.

He must surely have been hidden and seen me parking because all this happened in the space of two or three minutes.

Our day in Gozo was spoilt and we immediately turned our car back and returned to Malta.

Shame on the warden for not showing the slightest understanding or logic.
