Milan are set to bolster their forward line with the capture of Brazilian striker Luiz Adriano from Shakhtar Donetsk, and Luis Bacca, of Sevilla.

Adriano, 28, had been linked to a number of clubs across Europe following a prolific eight-year spell with Shakhtar but it is Milan who have won the race for his signature.

The club said on their official website: “AC Milan announces that it has today acquired Luiz Adriano from FC Shakhtar Donetsk, with the player signing a contract until June 2020. The player will join the team in the coming days.”

Luiz Adriano has won four caps for Brazil and is set to feature in a new-look strikeforce at Milan next season alongside Bacca.

Earlier yesterday, Sevilla confirmed that they had agreed the terms of the sale of Bacca with Milan.

The two clubs confirmed a deal had been struck pending a medical but did not disclose financial details or the length of Bacca’s new contract.

His deal with Sevilla ran until the end of June 2018 and he has a market value of 20 million euros, according to website Transfermarkt.com.

After joining from Club Bruges in 2013, Bacca had two successful seasons with Sevilla, helping them win the Europa League twice and finish fifth in La Liga last season.

The 28-year-old netted a double in the 3-2 victory over Ukrainian side Dnipro in the final of Europe’s second-tier club competition in May, taking his tally for Sevilla to 49 goals in 108 games.

He represented Colombia at the Copa America currently being played in Chile.
