The national beach soccer team will be taking part in the first edition of the Mediterranean Beach Games this summer.

These games are scheduled to take place towards the end of August and beginning of September in Pescara.

In preparation for their first appearance in an international tournament, the national squad is currently undergoing a four-day training camp in Viareggio.

In Malta, the national team train three times weekly at Għajn Tuffieħa.

The 10 players who have made the trip to Italy are Roderick Camilleri, Ivan Cassar, Diego Armando Cucciardi, Julian Briffa, Ronald Spina, George Frendo, Gilbert Martin, Ronnie Celeste, Mark Camilleri and Justin Camilleri.

In a statement, the Malta Beach Soccer Association (MBSA) thanked the Maltese Olympic Committee (MOC) and the Malta Football Association (MFA) for their vital assistance in the organisation of this training experience for the national squad.
