Andrea Pirlo... to leave Juve.Andrea Pirlo... to leave Juve.

Juventus veteran playmaker Andrea Pirlo is in advanced talks to move to Major League Soccer with New York City FC, according to reports in Italy.

Pirlo is currently on holiday in the United States and was seen on Saturday attending a New York Yankees baseball game at Yankee Stadium – which is also home to NYCFC.

The 36-year-old, who has one year left in his contract with Juve, helped the Turin giants win the domestic double for the first time since 1995 this season as well as reach the Champions League final.

He started in 30 games for Juve this season, including the Champions League defeat to Barcelona earlier this month, and scored five goals and set up five more.

Pirlo is expected to sign an 18-month contract with NYCFC and will reportedly earn five million euros per season.

Should his potential move be completed, Pirlo will play alongside Spain’s all-time record goalscorer David Villa and former England midfielder Frank Lampard at the MLS franchise located in New York City.

Juve are already looking for Pirlo’s replacement, with Real Madrid playmaker Isco a reported target of the Bianconeri.

A set-piece specialist, Pirlo has made 115 appearances for Italy and was a key player in helping the Azzurri lift the World Cup trophy in 2006.

He joined Juve after a decade playing for Milan in 2011 and has been a regular in Juve’s squad since.

The Italy international won six Scudetti during his time at Milan and Juve while also lifting the Champions League twice with the Rossoneri.
