UEFA have selected Maltese football referee Adrian Azzopardi to take charge of the Europa League first qualifying round match between Brondby IF (Denmark) and AC Juvenes (San Marino) in Copenhagen on Thursday.

This will mark Azzopardi’s debut in the Europa League competition following his appointment on the FIFA panel in January this year.

The other match officials chosen by the MFA Refereeing Department to form part of Azzopardi’s team are Roberto Vella and Christopher Francalanza as assistant referees and Fyodor Zammit as fourth official.

Turkey’s Mukarrem Zihni Aksoy has been tasked by UEFA with assessing the performance of the Maltese match officials at the Brondby stadium.
