The largest wall of Catherine wheels ever erected in Malta was lit on Saturday night mesmerising the hundreds of people who gathered for the feast of St Nicholas, in Siġġiewi.

The wall, known as a tapit, was made up of 25 columns with a whopping 112 wheels that whirled and whizzed for some two minutes, changing colours and lighting up the town’s main square.
