A 16-year-old boy has been remanded in custody after he admitted to a string of thefts mostly targeting tourists, the police said.

The youth was arraigned this morning after weeks of investigations by the Criminal Investigations Department.

He was accused of 15 thefts during which he stole cash, mobile phones and other items from hotel rooms and other tourism venues.

The police said they had intensified investigations into thefts from tourists, including from hotel rooms.
