The female choir of the Italian Foreign Affairs Ministry performed at the President’s Palace in Attard, with President, Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca as special guest.

Under the direction of Nancy Romano, the choir was joined by soprano Adriana Fenech Yordanova, contralto Hadar Halevi De Vito and Maltese pianist Charlene Farrugia.

The performance of Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi was particularly appreciated by the large audience.

The concert was attended by Chief Justice Silvio Camilleri, Attorney General Peter Grech, Home Affairs and National Security Minister Carmelo Abela and members of the diplomatic corps.

The choir, which was set up in 2008, has performed in Madrid (2011), Kiev (2012), Paris (2013), Berlin (2014), Prague and London (2014), Vienna (2015).

The event forms part of a programme of cultural activities promoted by the Italian Embassy to support the Malta Community Chest Fund.
