A request to build a kiosk on the Vittoriosa belvedere has been refused.

The proposed kiosk was contested by a number of residents, who filed a request for an injunction to stop the issuance of a full permit. The judge turned them down, saying the request was premature.

Residents also formally objected to the planning authority, saying the kiosk would create noise pollution and leave the smell of food.

However, while the planning report said the kiosk was “acceptable” since it “conforms to the design consideration”, the planning commission turned down the application because the site “is larger than that permitted in the outline permit”.
