The Malta Public Transport has said 120,000 people had now registered for the tallinja card.

It said registrations completed by June 19 (totalling 105,000) will be delivered by Tuesday before the new fare structure comes into effect on Wednesday.

Applications received after June 19 will be delivered on the following days. Card holders benefit from a reduced fare of €1.50. As from Wednesday, tickets will cost €2 per journey.
