Sannat-born priest Remiġ Galea was presented with the Gieħ Sannat award by Sannat council during a musico-literary event at Hotel Ta’ Ċenċ animated by Santa Margherita Musical Society under the direction of George Apap. Galea, a well-known poet, was ordained to the priesthood in 1964 by Archbishop Michael Gonzi at St John’s Co-Cathedral. He has served in various Capuchin friaries and for many years was chaplain at St Vincent De Paul residence, Luqa. He currently serves at the Capuchin friary in Victoria.
