Tunisia's president says the police, army and Tunisian citizens are now involved in a "war against terrorism", following another gun attack that killed dozens of tourists.

"We have repeatedly said that Tunisia is in a war against terrorism. This war does not only concern the police or the army that paid the higher price and was often targeted, today we are reminded that the Tunisian people as a whole are involved," President Beji Caid Essebsi said.

The resort town of Sousse is now a crime scene.

The attacker was shot and killed...but the aftermath of his shooting spree remains.

A second gunman is reportedly in custody.

39 people, mostly tourists, were killed on a beach in yesterday's attacks. Among them were a number of British, French and German visitors.

No Maltese were involved, but the Maltese foreign ministry expressed its condemnation and concern over the incident.

Tunisia said this morning that it is to close down 80 mosques for inciting violence.
