Bournemouth have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Ipswich left-back Tyrone Mings.

The 22-year-old is understood to be on the south coast discussing personal terms and preparing to undergo a medical in a deal that will see midfielder Ryan Fraser join Ipswich on a season-long loan.

Mings was one of the outstanding performers in the Championship last season, making 44 appearances for Ipswich.

He was the subject of a rejected bid from Crystal Palace on transfer deadline day last summer.

Sevilla rule out Konoplyanka chase

Sevilla have pulled out of the race to sign Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka this summer.

The Europa League winners were hoping to lure the £15m-rated Konoplyanka to the Sanchez Pizjuan stadium but negotiations have proved unsuccessful.

The Ukraine international has been strongly linked with a move to Stoke City, while Newcastle United are also in the race to sign the 25-year-old.

“We set ourselves a deadline to sign Konoplyanka and it has ex-pired,” Sevilla said in a statement, yesterday.

“We have ruled out this possibility and we are now working on other options.”

Napoli want €94m for striker Higuain

Napoli have told interested clubs they will have to find €94.7 million to sign striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Higuain netted 18 goals last season and Napoli have now released a statement explaining that any club wanting to buy Higuain will have to meet his €94.7m (£66m) buy-out clause.

“Napoli are keen to clarify certain articles, published in some newspapers, about the departure of Higuain,” a statement read.

“The official clarification from Napoli is the following: there is a clause in Gonzalo Higuain’s contract. The clause is €94.7 million.

“There have been no bids. Anyone who wants the player will have to pay that amount.”

Laporta dreams of Pogba move

Joan Laporta would be keen to sign Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba if he wins FC Barcelona’s presidential election on July 18.

Pogba, 22, is one of the most coveted players in Europe.

Laporta is hoping to return to Barca’s top post and is one of five candidates in the running to replace Josep Maria Bartomeu, who is standing for re-election.

“Pogba would be a great signing. He is a very strong player, young and he is enthusiastic to arrive here,” Laporta said.

Reports in Spain claim Pogba is expected to remain in Turin for another season before making his move to the Nou Camp next summer.

De Jong extends his stay at Milan

Nigel de Jong has signed a new three-year contract with Milan.

The Holland midfielder, 30, scored three goals in 29 Serie A starts for Milan this season and his previous deal was set to expire next week.

De Jong joined Milan from Manchester City in the summer of 2012 for an initial fee of £3.5 million and recently declared his wish to end his career at the San Siro.

Milan will not play in European competition next season after a disappointing 2014-15 campaign saw the Rossoneri finish 10th in the standings.

The club appointed former Sampdoria boss Sinisa Mihajlovic as their new coach earlier this month after dismissing Filippo Inzaghi after just one year in charge.

Dempsey gets lengthy cup ban

Seattle Sounders striker Clint Dempsey has been banned from the US Open Cup for at least two years after an incident in which he was sent off for ripping up a referee’s notebook.

US international Dempsey has already been suspended for three games by Major League Soccer (MLS) after the incident in which he was given a red card.

The United States Soccer Federation said in a statement that Dempsey had been banned for “a total of six US Open Cup matches or the next two years of US Open Cup competition, whichever is greater. In addition, Dempsey has been fined an undisclosed amount.”

The former Fulham and Tottenham forward has waived his right to appeal the decision.

Wambach warned

US striker Abby Wambach has escaped with nothing more than a warning from FIFA after she said a referee at the women’s World Cup had targeted two of her team-mates on the verge of suspension.

Wambach, who later apologised for the comments, said French referee Stephanie Frappart had “purposefully” gone after midfielders Megan Rapinoe and Lauren Holiday in the United States’ last 16 win over Colombia.

Rapinoe and Holiday, who had been one yellow card away from suspension, did not play in last night’s quarter-final between the US and China after being booked by Frappart.
