Cancer will not stop Vivian Campbell from rocking out with Def Leppard.

The guitarist’s publicist confirmed yesterday that doctors have given him a treatment which will allow him to avoid radiation and join his band’s tour in Birmingham, Alabama, on Saturday.

“So, so happy to report that I’ve dodged the bullet of radiation,” the 52-year-old posted on his Facebook page.

“I was due to start a course that would have sidelined me for most of the first leg of the US tour, but my brilliant doctors have steered me towards an alternative course of treatment that will enable me to rejoin the tour.”

Campbell was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2013.

Def Leppard has announced tour dates until January 2016.
