Berardi: Juventus forward Domenico Berardi has joined Sassuolo on a permanent transfer. The Turin giants part-owned Berardi’s sporting rights with Sassuolo, and with the deadline for the settlement of co-ownership deals fast approaching, the two clubs reached an agreement for the 20-year-old. Juve purchased 50 per cent of Berardi’s registration rights in September 2013 for €4.6 million.

Simao: Former Portugal winger Simao Sabrosa has signed up as NorthEast United’s marquee player for the second season of the Indian Super League (ISL), the team said yesterday. The 35-year-old Europa League winner has been without a club since last year and will replace World Cup-winning defender Joan Capdevila as the ISL team’s big-name signing.

Rami: Europa League holders Sevilla are looking to strengthen their defence for next season’s Champions League by signing Milan’s French centre back Adil Rami, sporting director Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo said yesterday. Rami joined Milan on loan in January 2014 after falling out of favour at Sevilla’s La Liga rivals Valencia and the move was later made permanent. The 29-year-old was last selected for France in June 2013.

Westermann: Former Germany international Heiko Westermann has ended his five-year association with Hamburg SV after both parties decided not to extend the defender’s contract. Westermann joined the club from Schalke 04 and had a spell as captain until being replaced by Rafael van der Vaart in 2013.
