ATTARD. On June 21, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOAN, known as Gina), née Fralliciardi, aged 84, widow of Charles, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Enza and her husband Alec Lapira and Mariella and her husband Alain Mangion, her most beloved grandchildren, Matthew and Carla, Daniel and Leanne, and Julia, her devoted carer Marieta, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today for Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Mater Dei Hospital, for their dedication and care. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
CIAPPARA. On June 24, at St Vincent de Paul Residence, HELEN, k/a Nellie, nèe Pillow, widow of John, at the age of 91. She leaves to mourn her loss her nieces in Malta, Marian Muscat Azzopardi, Vera Lungaro Mifsud and Mona Pace Bardon and their families, besides several nephews and nieces abroad, her grand nephews and nieces and grand grand nieces and nephew, other relatives aġnd friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul Residence tomorrow, at 9.30am for Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery chapel where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 10am followed by interment in the family grave. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank staff at Rużar Briffa Ward for their care and dedication. De BONO. On June 25, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARY, née Borg, aged 88, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Mary, much loved by her two daughters, Stephanie, wife of Michael Conway, and Carmen. She will be missed by her brother Gontran and his wife Mary, her treasured lifelong friends, Lydia Aquilina, May Ellul Soler, Edith Valentino and Maud Vassallo. She will forever be fondly remembered by Anna Ruggier and Roberto Rueda Plasencia whose lives she touched in a very special way, in-laws, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.15 for St Mary’s parish church (knisja l-qadima), Birkirkara, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
