Every year, in the summer, an Italian funfair sets up its rides and bright lights on Manoel Island. So far so good. It is very nice for those who like such things for entertainment.

However, what is terrible is the incredibly intrusive loudspeakers positioned for maximum annoyance to those neighbours who are within hearing distance. Every evening from around 6pm until late, we in St Julian’s are bombarded with the unpleasantly rhythmic chants of the man who is supposedly attracting patrons to try his wares.

Surely, there must be a law against this disturbance of the peace of those within over a kilometre radius of this ghastly noisy funfair?

After all, the bright lights and all the movements of the various rides are surely sufficient to attract those seeking to enjoy the funfair.

It is up to the Gżira council and police to investigate my complaint and hopefully put an end to this terrible noise.
