• Xewkija celebrates the feast of St John the Baptist today with a concelebrated Mass led by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech at 8.45am. Fr Paul Galea will deliver the panegyric. The Duke of Connaught’s Own band of Birkirkara will perform marches at 11.30am. Archbishop Emeritus Paul Cremona will lead a solemn Mass at 6.15pm. The procession will take place from 7.45 to 10.45pm. The Precursor and Mnarja bands will also participate.

• Arka Foundation will hold its last car boot sale before the summer break today from 7am onwards in the main Marsalforn car park. Sellers are requested to pay a €10 donation per car to the foundation.

• The feast of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu will be celebrated tomorrow. Masses will be said at 5, 6.15, 7.30 and 11.15am and at 5 and 6.30pm. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will lead a pontifical Mass at 9am and at 8pm. There will be a silent adoration between 12.30 and 4pm. There will be an aux flambeaux procession and the reciting of the rosary on the sanctuary parvis at 9pm. The celebrations will be partially broadcast on Radju Marija 102.3/107.8 FM.

• A second-hand book sale will be held at the public library, Victoria from tomorrow to Saturday.

• A pasta night with live entertainment in aid of Nepal earthquake victims will be held by the Don Bosco Oratory youth committee on Tuesday at 8pm at St Augustine’s convent garden, Victoria. Tickets at €5 are available from the oratory in Victoria or call 2155 6616, 9948 7751.

• MUSEUM superior Joe Fenech will lead a prayer and catechesis meeting at Our Lady of Pompeii church, Victoria, on Thursday from 10 to 11am. All are invited.

• ‘Ħondoq by Night’ will be held at Ħondoq Bay on Friday at 8pm.

• The President’s Ball, in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund will be held at Ġgantija Temples on Saturday at 8pm. Tickets at €90 per person available online or from the MCCF offices in Gozo (Tel. 2155 3807), Valletta or San Anton Palace (Tel. 2122 6226).

• The Gozo Confederation for Agriculture and Fisheries will present a weekend of activities at Gozitano Agricultural Village, Xewkija, on Saturday and next Sunday.
