MELITO. On June 17, JOHN of Gżira, aged 83, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife Marie Antoinette, his brother Joe, his sisters Mary and Carmen, his in-laws Arist, Isabelle, Anthony, John, Victoria, Edwina, Carmen, their respective families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8am for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church in Gżira where Mass will be said at 8.30am followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MERCIECA. On June 17, at Mater Dei Hospital, Fr DIONISIUS MERCIECA, OCD, priest at St Theresa friary, Birkirkara, aged 91, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss the Discalced Carmelite Fathers, his brothers Fr Ġwakkin Mercieca OFM Cap and Lonzu and his wife Maria, his sisters Ġużeppa, Liza, Rita and Mary, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. Today, Fr Dionisius will be lying in state at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Hall, Birkirkara (Kunvent il-Qadim) from 9.30am onwards. Tomorrow at 9am a funeral cortège leaves Our Lady of Mount Carmel Hall, Birkirkara, for St Theresa Sanctuary, Birkirkara, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 9.15am, followed by interment. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MICALLEF. On June 17, at Karin Grech Rehabilitation Centre, CARMELA of Ħamrun, widow of Ernest, at the venerable age of 95, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Doris and her husband Richard, Myriam and her husband Eddie, Leslie, widower of her daughter Polly, Vera and her husband Tony, Ernest and his wife Doris, Alfred and his wife Iris, Gejtu and his wife Marlene, Tony and his wife Doreen, Joe and his wife Elizabeth, Raymond and his wife Carmen, and Carmen and her husband Mario, her grand­children and great-grand­children, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Karin Grech Rehabilitation Centre today at 7.45am for the Immaculate Conception parish church, Ħamrun, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.15am, followed by interment at the Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, Dingli. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

SAMMUT. On June 17, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, aged 72, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sisters Carmen, widow of Charles Borg, Mary, widow of Karm Delicata, Helen and her husband Sancio Azzopardi, Catherine and her husband Konrad Gatt, his brother Emmanuel and his wife Oksana, nephews, nieces and families, relatives and friends. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 22 at 8.30am at St Joseph the Worker parish church, Birkirkara. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the staff at the Day Care Unit, Mater Dei Hospital, for their dedication to his care. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
