Francis Flynn writes:

Soon after the death of her husband and sister, Dorothy Sapiano was called to join them in everlasting life.

Those who, like myself, knew Dorothy were always amazed at the number of things she managed to get through in a day: from giving refreshments to those on duty outside the Russian Embassy, in Kappara to washing, starching and ironing of church altar pieces and priests albs.

She was a lady of many talents which she used to help anyone who needed her assistance, whether it was to make wedding gowns for friends, driving priests to give Holy Communion to the sick in their homes and making cakes for charity.

Nothing was too much for Dorothy.

On the day of her last medical operation she was up at 4am to make baptismal bibs for the babies who were due to be christened that month, something she had done for many years.

In spite of the fact that she was looking after her ill husband in the last months of his life, she never let anyone down and found time to carry on with her charitable work.

Dorothy was a loving and dedicated wife and mother and a caring friend to many, as highlighted during the funeral Mass, which was concelebrated by many priests who were previously attached to San Ġwann parish.

She will be remembered with great respect not only by her family and friends but also by the people of San Ġwann.

To her son, Martin, and her family I offer my deepest and sincere condolences.
