Joseph Grioli is the new chairman of the Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti.
Mr Grioli has held different management posts in a variety of industries, including man-made fabrics, hotels, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and was the first appointed managing director of Vodafone International, which led to him becoming a member of the council for Vodafone companies in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, Malta, Egypt, Uganda and Kenya (Semea region).
Mr Grioli also set up the Malta Maritime Authority and subsequently was chairman of the consortium which built the Malta Cruise Port. He founded and headed the Mediterranean Cruise Port Association, of which he is still the honorary president.
On the public front, he was director of the Malta Development Corporation, the Malta Export Trade Corporation, the Malta Council for Economic Development and chaired the board of a number of troubled government-owned companies.
Mr Grioli was president of the Malta Federation of Industries for two years.
Currently, he is chairman of IIG Bank Malta plc and director on several boards governing investment funds and investment committees. He acts as non-executive director of other Maltese service and manufacturing companies.
