Is it too much to ask Transport Malta for some shade or do we all have to bake in the sun? The Health Department very rightly issues regular warnings about the damage direct sunlight can cause but sadly Transport Malta seems to ignore such advice.

The debate went on for many months about providing shade for our poor karozzin horses; quite rightly common sense prevailed and these were erected.

Now, please, can we humans have some cover? I could write a long list of locations where people wait for public transport where no shade whatsoever is provided. I will mention the Grand Harbour ferry service, where there is no shade at either Cospicua or Senglea and the shade provided across at Customs House is less than adequate.

Please, for the sake of our health, let’s have some adequate cover urgently. It’s only going to get hotter.
