Specialised equipment has been donated to Gozo General Hospital’s paediatric section using funds raised by the Dorthese Ellis Foundation. The donation consists of state-of-the-art neonatal resuscitation equipment and a specialised vital signs monitor for use when transferring sick babies from Gozo to Mater Dei Hospital.

The foundation was set up in 2001 by Maria Ellis and her late husband Anthony in memory of their daughter Dorthese. In the past it has bought a minibus to provide transport for the disabled and raised funds to buy patient lifting equipment and volumetric pumps. It also loans hospital-type beds and wheelchairs to patients for use in their homes.
